Besides annoying, noise is also known to be the cause of some health problems. One of the most noticeable health problems it may cause is hearing loss. Noise can also affect our bodies subconsciously. In readiness for dangerous and harmful situations, our bodies make automatic and unconscious responses to sudden or loud sounds. In effect, the body shifts gears. Blood pressure rises, heart rate and breathing speed up, muscles tense, hormones are released into the bloodstream, and perspiration appears. When noise becomes sufficiently loud or unpredictable, or if the stress imposed is great enough, our initial annoyance can become transformed into more extreme emotional responses and behavior. It’s also reported that noise can strain relations between individuals, cause people to be less tolerant of frustration and ambiguity, and make people less willing to help others. With so many bad effects of noise on our humans’ health, many are working at reducing the amount of noise in our everyday environment by using various noise control products and materials.
Reducing the intensity of sounds is called soundproofing. With soundproofing, noise can be affected in two ways: it can be either reduced or absorbed. Noise reduction implies blocking the sound wave passage with intervening objects. The absorption of noise refers to echoes and reverberation being suppressed. The ceiling baffles are effective for sound absorption. To reduce noise in power sports industry, the dyno testing rooms can be used to reduce noise levels by 40 Decibels.
Whatever method chosen, it’s a good thing to reduce noise in work place. Keep in mind that noise control can positively affect workers’ health and productivity.

Paintball is indeed an exciting game! That’s what I and some friends experienced last weekend. One thing that makes it more exciting is that in paintball, you can hardly survive a game on your own. You need to cooperate and communicate with your team mates. No wonder that many companies use this game to test their new staff. In paintball, you can really see a person’s social behavior, team spirit and leading skill.
However, I have to warn you that there are many rules to follow in this game, especially rules to avoid injuries. Never take you mask off because the velocity of a paintball is high and it can easily damage your eyes. You also need the right gear including paintball marker and safety mask. You have to be honest when playing this game. If you get splat and the ref doesn’t see, raise your hand for all to see and walk off.
For me, paintball is highly addictive. You should try playing it with your friends to find out how addictive this game can be.

Today almost everyone is taking a hit from the global financial crisis. Companies are reducing costs, productivity is declining and unemployment is rising. But we all should believe that a wealth of opportunities will be created for those who stress innovation and adapt to the drastic changes in world economic conditions. Your business may be slow today, but if you do what is necessary to survive, your business will return to profitability in the future. Always keep in mind that recessions do occur; recessions are out of our control and recessions will come to an end, too.
The uncertain economic times are forcing all executives, managers, and business owners to adopt new strategies for navigating through the current business downturn. In such times, a Balance Scorecard can drive performance of employees as well as that of the business. A recession scorecard can help organizations first clarify their new strategy and then make it actionable to create measurable results. The downturn scorecard provides a more holistic view of performance by helping organizations develop and review strategic objectives within a balanced set of key focus areas: Financial, Customers, Internal Processes, and Learning and Growth. With the development and implementation of a comprehensive downturn bsc concept, effective execution of strategic goals to survive the financial crisis becomes much more attainable.
